Uploader.
Photo
Upload allows the user to take photos with a compatible mobile phone and
then attach these photos to the information captured on a Digital Form.
Multiple photos can be attached to a single digital form. These images
along with their form data are uploaded to the servers and can be reviewed
using FM and can, in turn, be forwarded to the customer's own servers.
How
it works.
The mobile phone user takes a photo with their phone
camera. This is stored as a file on the mobile phone. On completion of
the Digital Form, all data from the pen is sent to the mobile phone. Any
data requiring validation will be validated in accordance with the criteria.
Once validation has been successfully passed, the user will be prompted
to attach a photo or photos from the list of photos stored on their mobile
phone. All selected photos, along with their associated Digital Form data
are then transmitted to the servers for full processing. The attaching
of photos to a Digital Form can either be set as mandatory or optional.
If mandatory, the user will always be prompted to attach a photo along
with the form. If optional, the user will only be prompted to attach a
photo if the user has ticked the "attach photo" pidget on their
Digital Form.
Image
Resolution.
The
resolution of the photo uploaded to the OntoIT servers is governed by
the resolution of the camera on the mobile phone.
Technical
Requirements.
Compatible
phones must have a camera and run on Symbian series 60 firmware. A list
of approved phones is available from OntoIT.
